WHY WE LOVE THIS WINE

Charming aromas of red fruits and subtle spicy notes accompany an exhilarating ruby colour. The same flavours reappear on the palate and are complemented by rich vanilla and caramel from the time in oak. This wine is a great example of Spätburgunder (as the Germans call Pinot Noir). Elegant, structured, juicy and long.

ABOUT THE WINERY

Andreas grew up roaming the vineyards of the Mosel wherehis family were grafting vines. It is no surprise he beganmaking wine when he was 13! His wine experiences include time in the U.S., France, Italy and at Geisenheim University as a scholar inoenology and viticulture. Today he manages 35 hectares of his own vineyards. His grapes are picked and hand-sorted, to ensure the highest quality of juice. The unconventional use of retired oak barrels can be a bit hit ormiss, but for Andreas, it has been a hit. Andreas'contemporary attitude comes through in the Bender labeldesign and accessible, fun wines. He takes Pfalz andMosel's traditional grapes, cool climate, and slate soils and uses them to create impeccably balanced wines.
