Daniel Chotard, Sancerre 2019
By Pete's Provisions

WHY WE LOVE THIS WINE
Aged on the lees. Brilliant pale yellow in color with a very pure nose reminiscent of citrus and white blossoms. Refreshing and full-bodied on the palate. Elegant, well-balanced with good length.
ABOUT THE WINERY
The Chotard family has been making wine for well over two hundred years, and for renaissance man Daniel, Sauvignon Blanc is more than a grape variety; it is a tempo, an equally compelling art form to jazz.
Organically farming the slopes of the village Crezancy-en-Sancerre, where flint meets clay and the famous Kimmeridgian limestone, the Chotards harvest later than their neighbors, resulting in less of the acidity that is so typical of the appellation. Aging the wine on its lees further rounds the mid-palate. These wines are luscious and complex with deep notes and long, satisfying finales. One of the world's finest expressions of the Sauvignon Blanc grape
