WHY WE LOVE THIS WINE
Vines over 40 years old, a blend of several parcels located mainly in the commune of Solutré Pouilly, growing on clay-limestone terroirs. The wine is vinified and matured in Burgundy oak barrels and oak casks.
Fresh open nose, very fresh attack, beautiful elegance, complex and good acidity.
ABOUT THE WINERY
Situated at the foot of the famous rock of Solutré, in the hamlet of Pouilly, Domaine Trouillet – currently managed by Marie-Agnès (3rd generation) and her son William (4th generation) – extends over about twenty hectares today. Jules Guérin, Marie-Agnès’s grandfather, started with 4 hectares of share-cropped land (in the hamlet of Pouilly) which his son Jean worked for 45 years. According to the winery, the Pouilly-Fuissé "is a gold-colored wine with numerous flavors (notes of minerals, citrus, white fruits, brioche, honey). It is very well suited to shellfish, foie gras, white meat and goat’s cheese.
