Guidobono, Roero Arneis

WHY WE LOVE THIS WINE
Made from Arneis, Piedmont's most interesting white grape, this wine is round with plenty of ripe peach fruit with a zesty backbone. This is a white made for food pairings, delicate yet forward with enough body to handle spice. Pear drops on the nose with a ripe nectarine palate.
ABOUT THE WINERY
The soils in Piemonte are influenced by their location within the mountain. The top of the hills are poor and essentially based on alluvial deposits. The lower part of the mountain is made up of clay-limestone soil with a variable proportion of sand, which often determines the degree of finesse in the wines. Piedmont sits at the foot of the Western Alps which encircle the best sites around the cities of Alba and Asti - made up with calcareous marl and sandstone.
