WHY WE LOVE THIS WINE
A blend of three grape varieties. Clairette brings the freshness and zest of citrus, Viognier the aromatic richness, the roundness, and the Grenache the notes of white flowers.
The grapes are picked early in the morning and completely gropped. Fermentation in a stainless steel tank preserves all the aromatic freshness. A nose of citrus and apricots, a round and gourmet mouth with a fresh and savory finish.
ABOUT THE WINERY
La Solitude belongs to one of the oldest families of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, whose roots date back to the 15th century. In the 17th century, Hélène Barberini, a descendant of the illustrious Tuscan family of the same name, married Claude Martin, owner of a vineyard in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Their grandson will give a tremendous boom to Solitude by creating the first label on the Appellation. Thus "the Vin de la Solitude" becomes a guarantee of quality and is exported, a great terroir asserts itself. Eight generations later the Domaine is still family and led by Florent Lançon.
