WHY WE LOVE THIS WINE
The grapes come from clay-limestone pebble terroirs typical of the southern Rhône Valley. It is a blend of the three emblematic grape varieties: Black Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre. The threpped grapes are vinified in concrete tanks. The wines are then aged in concrete and stainless steel tanks for 1 year. A beautiful ruby dress, an intense nose of red fruits and spices. A flexible and gourmet mouth with a fine tannic structure.
ABOUT THE WINERY
La Solitude belongs to one of the oldest families of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, whose roots date back to the 15th century. In the 17th century, Hélène Barberini, a descendant of the illustrious Tuscan family of the same name, married Claude Martin, owner of a vineyard in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Their grandson will give a tremendous boom to Solitude by creating the first label on the Appellation. Thus "the Vin de la Solitude" becomes a guarantee of quality and is exported, a great terroir asserts itself. Eight generations later the Domaine is still family and led by Florent Lançon.
